A Message From Bob Murphy

As a former player on the PGA Tour and PGA Seniors Tour and as a television golf analyst for many years, I have had the opportunity to see and play hundreds of courses across the country. When the Board of Governors of Delray Dunes Golf & Country Club asked me to provide some commentary on my home club, where I have lived and played for over 50 years, I accepted enthusiastically.

Delray Dunes is the first course designed by Pete Dye in Florida. As an early Dye design, there are no humps and hollows, no railroad ties, no severe contours. It's gentle, with broad-shouldered fairways leading to medium-size greens which are acknowledged to be among the very best in south Florida.

The Clubhouse was re-built in its entirety in 2012. The dark wood accents of the bar and grill room and inviting hues throughout the interior convey classic elegance of a by-gone era while the new fitness center and pool meet the modern needs of today's membership. But it is the makeup and attitude of the membership that really sets us apart.

Ages of our members range from their 20's to their 90's. What binds us together is a strong interest in golf and a penchant to judge other members not by what they have or do professionally, but their friendliness. The staff and existing members go out of their way to integrate new members into groups with similar skill levels.

We offer several membership opportunities, and we invite you to contact us to see what type best suits you. If you would like a personal tour of the Club's facilities, please call our Membership Director, Dana Schweitzer, at (561) 732-1600.
